Billionaire Andelson builds new casino

The man who built a gambling empire to become the sixth-richest person in the world learned about the law of averages six decades ago at the Allentown Fair. At least that’s what Sheldon Adelson told John Callahan when the Bethlehem mayor visited Las Vegas a couple of years ago. Now worth more than $26 billion, according to Forbes magazine which also ranked him sixth richest, Adelson grew up modestly in Boston as the son of a cab driver.
