MGM Mirage, Pansy Ho May Partner Dubai World for Macau Project

MGM Mirage’s venture with the daughter of billionaire Stanley Ho, which is opening a $1.25 billion casino in Macau, may team up with the Dubai government’s investment arm for a project in the Chinese city.The partnership between the world’s second-largest casino operator and Pansy Ho has already applied to open a second facility in Macau’s Cotai Strip to follow the 600-room MGM Grand Macau, which is opening tomorrow. Other projects with Dubai World, which bought a stake in MGM Mirage in August, may follow in the city, the only area in China where casino gambling is legal.

“We are looking at other opportunities,” Terrence Lanni, chief executive officer of MGM Mirage, said in an interview in Macau today. “We don’t want to limit ourselves to a second site in Macau. Dubai World actually owns property in Macau.” He declined to confirm the size or value of the properties or if a project with Dubai World in the city would be a casino
