Liberty Media Seeks Order Barring IAC Spinoff Plans

Liberty Media Corp.’s billionaire Chairman John Malone, who is battling to wrest control of IAC/InterActiveCorp from Barry Diller, asked a judge to temporarily halt IAC’s plans to break up into five companies.The request comes amid a legal battle that began last week when IAC and Liberty traded lawsuits over Diller’s plan to dismantle the media and Internet conglomerate he spent more than a decade assembling and cut Liberty’s voting power in half. Liberty wants to bar spinoff proceedings until the suits are resolved.
