Go figure: Leviev says diamond prices are too low

i guess that billions in profits aint enough. yet anothet case of fortune beeing “made” out of monopoly aka Carlos Slim

Israel’s largest diamond dealer, Lev Leviev, addressed a packed hall yesterday at the Third International Rough Conference. During his speech he emphasized that the current levels of competition within the industry are placing too strong of a downward pressure on prices.

 ”All of the rough producers must sit down together and build a uniform marketing strategy. A strategy for distributing the merchandise so that manufacturers will no longer compete with each other. That way everyone will have much greater profits. That way they can take care of themselves.”
