Berlusconi Says Tax-Evasion Fight Can Fund Cuts in Income Tax

Silvio Berlusconi, the front-runner to become prime minister in the April 13-14 national elections, said that the fight against tax evasion can fund the lowering of Italy’s highest income-tax bracket.Berlusconi said the highest rate can be lowered to 33 percent from 43 percent “only if everyone is paying taxes,” according to an interview with newspaper Corriere della Sera’s Web TV in Milan.
